Attendee registration includes the welcome reception, breaks, scheduled lunches, social event, and banquet. Companions are invited to attend the welcome reception at no cost. Companions are also invited to attend the social event and banquet (subject to fees below). All fees will be detailed and payable through the EPFL website. A book of Symposium Proceedings will also be provided to registered attendees following peer review and publication.

Registration fees are as listed below (CHF):

  • Early Registration (through 31 March 2023) – 750.00 CHF
  • Late/On-site Registration (after 31 March 2023) – 850.00 CHF
  • Student/Young Professional On-line Registration – 350.00 CHF **
  • Student/Young Professional Late/On-site Registration – 400.00 CHF **
  • Companion – Wednesday Evening Banquet – 100.00 CHF
  • Companion – Wednesday Social Event – 35.00 CHF
  • Companions Program – 150.00 CHF
  • Technical Tour – CANCELLED

Online registration will end at close of business (5:00 PM (UTC+2)) on Friday, 5 May 2023, after which only on-site registration will be available.

Cancellation policy –Should a registrant encounter a need to withdraw from the ISRD, a full refund of registration cost will be available for cancellations received prior to close of business on 5 May 2023. A 50% refund of the registration cost, 350.00 CHF, will be available from 6 May 2023 to close of business on 19 May 2023.


** Students and young professionals – A limited number of registrations at a reduced fee are available for young professionals and full-time students at accredited universities. Students and young professionals may participate in all Symposium activities. 

Students – Full-time students from accredited universities will be asked to show their student identification cards at the conference check-in.

Young professionals – To qualify for young professional rates for ISRD-17, a young professional must have graduated within the two years prior to the start date of the conference and be under the age of 35. The following written verification attesting to their young professional status is required:

  • Copy of their transcript from the institution they attended within the last two years.
  • (or) Written letter from their faculty advisor attesting that they were a full-time student within the last two years.
  • To verify that an individual’s age is less than 35 — driver license or other government issued identity card (e.g., passport), to be shown at the conference check-in.
